Can I park anywhere there is room?
When you go to Ventimiglia by car, do not park in areas where the signs
are blue and white or there is a blue line on the curb. You will be
ticketed. Park in the parking lots only.
Is there public transportation?
The bus system is very effective. The blue bus goes through Isolabona
several times a day. It goes up to Pigna, over to Apricale, into Comporosso
where you can transfer to the San Remo bus. This bus stops several places in
Ventimiglia and Bordighera.
Do I need different auto insurance?
Be certain to take full comprehensive insurance on your rental car. Do
not expect that your insurance in the States will cover you or your American
Express will cover you. We learned the hard way.
Must I lock my car?
Yes. Be certain you always lock your car. There are car thieves in Europe
just as in the States.
Do they drive fast in Europe?
Yes. Everyone drives fast in Europe. Feel free to pull over so faster
traffic can pass and you can enjoy your sightseeing.
What are the roads like?
The roads are very narrow and parking sites are really tight. Do not accept
a large, wide car as they are too big for the narrow roads. If you don't get
your rental car dented, it will be a miracle.
